We aren’t talking about bombs here. It’s really just about handling “thermal shock.” The glass is specially made to survive that brutal jump from a 20°C splash to an 800°C filament without cracking. Plus, it’s treated so that even if the worst happens, it doesn’t just spray glass everywhere. It stays together. Here is the best part: these heaters use short-wave infrared. The tube might be tough, but your electrical connections are still terrified of steam. Use high-temp leads. And please, don’t go cheap on the connectors or under-spec the voltage.
